I wanted a pen for my new S21 Ultra and I bought a couple of different options and I am sticking with this one.At first I thought a flip screen would bug me, and in certain ways it does (taking a photo is more of a chore as is using the led as a flashlight), but in other ways I welcome it as it gives me some screen protection should I drop the phone because most of the reviews of screen protectors do not give me confidence in allowing fingerprint usage, which is bad enough without a screen protector. It also gives me an easy way to conserve battery life as flipping it shut does not automatically require a fingerprint to turn it on again when you open the cover (very useful if you are using it to drive long distances and your spouse has the charging cable). It also gives me extra options for having a secure grasp of my phone as well as giving it a tent mode should I want to watch something. Finally it is nice that I can see the time and turn off alarms without opening it (the thin window is touch screen compatible)I cut a circular hole in the back (as I have done for the past 3 phones now for heat dissipation) to mount a pop socket base to the back so that when I twist the pop socket off it slides into my holster and is not in the way when I flip the screen cover to the back to use the phone. It is my first phone without an Otterbox Defender case in a very very long time, so I am still a bit wary about dropping my phone, but so far I have been fortunate. I have that flap to reduce the probability of droppage. I just hope that as it falls, the flap winds up covering the screen as it lands. That said... if Otterbox made a Defender case that had a slot for the pen, I would jump ship in a heartbeat.See aboveMy phone just fell over 10 feet from my deck to a concrete walk. I went to retrieve it, certain that I'd be buying a new phone, but the phone was not even scratched, and working perfectly.
